Our Story

Quality Truck Bodies was founded in 1975 by Jimmy Stancil and Ralph Jones, who built the original shop into a trusted name for work trucks across eastern North Carolina. Mike Gira purchased the business in 1995 and has led it ever since, with his son Chris joining full-time in 2001. That same year, QTB moved into its current facility on Rock Quarry Road in Elm City — a larger building that gave us room to expand fabrication and service operations.

Some things haven't changed. More than five decades of hands-on experience are welded into every body that leaves our shop.
